A lifelong practitioner, Steve’s journey has been anything but linear. From a turbulent youth and a deep draw to the Way of the Warrior, he trained in Shaolin Mok Ga Kung Fu and Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan with dedication. He met and trained Yang Family style under Master Thomas, inheriting not just the forms but the responsibility to share it with those who seek.

Guardian of the Flow

“My background has been in Shaolin Mok Gau Kung Fu and Wu style Tai Chi Chuan. My teacher, SiFu Robert Morgan, trained under Master Chan of Hong Kong and founded the Shaolin Mok Gau School in Coventry.”

“I AM a warrior. I study. I practice. I teach. above all ... I walk the path.”

The warrior commits to growing the heart and soul in becoming a creative being. The warrior serves in love of strangers and gives generously while giving to themselves. The spiritual warrior seeks to change others with rational and compassionate decision-making in service of a higher goal.

Now living and teaching in West Wales, Steve continues to guide others into themselves; with humility, truth, and presence.

“Stop it. Tidy up. Inside and out.”

Steve’s message is simple; but not easy. Tend to the inner world as you move through the outer one. Practice presence. Live with breath. Walk your way.

Born in 1963, Steve began his martial journey in his early 20s. Trained by Sifu Rob Morgan in Shaolin Mok Gau Kung Fu and Wu Style Tai Chi Chaun for almost 15 years each and continued learning through various modalities including:

5 Rhythms Dance

Qi Gong & Yoga

Yang Style Tai Chi Chaun

Karate & Kung Fu

Meditation & Toltec wisdom teachings

This broad base allowed Steve to integrate deeply with the teachings of Sö-Pa and progress swiftly under Master Thomas’s guidance.

This is not a class to attend; it is a path to walk.

“Only when the external has been developed… can the devotee move inside.”
“There are no mistakes, only the journey.”

The Practice

Tai Chi Chuan, unlike the softened, empty versions often seen in the West, is a rich and powerful system of cultivation. With its roots in ancient medicine, martial skill, philosophy, and internal alchemy, every movement in the form has a purpose. Strength. Flexibility. Stillness. Breath. Spirit.

“It is an honour to pass on some of the wisdom shared with me by my teachers. I am particularly grateful to Master Thomas Buchi for all he has added to my understanding of Tai Chi Chaun. I shall always be a student of Tai Chi Chuan; there is so much to be learned. It is a way of life.”
